Her mother pulled a coat out of her trunk and with a big smile said, “This is the coat my mother gave me when I went to college.” she slipped it on, admiring herself in the mirror.
She took it off and said, “I want you to have it. Here, try it on.”
Her mother held it open for her to put on and buttoned up the large gold buttons.
“That color looks stunning on you,” her mother said. Then she looked her up and down, furrowed her brows, and added
“It’s a little snug - but that’s okay - didn’t you say you wanted to lose a little weight?”
